The Bicycle Coalition is seeking a talented and energetic campaign fellow to work on our most important advocacy campaign in years–Reauthorization of the Alameda County Transportation Expenditure Plan, known as Measure B1. This is a full-time fellowship with a 40 hour per week commitment. We offer a stipend of $480 per week for the 12 week period.

The Campaign Fellow will work on our campaign to secure 2/3’s voter support for reauthorizing the Alameda County Transportation Sales Tax, which funds bike/ped projects, among other types of projects, in Alameda County. Work includes organizing voter outreach, social media strategies, print media outreach, coordinating efforts with the “Yes on Measure B1” campaign, training volunteers, event outreach and more. The Campaign Fellow provides the opportunity to develop great experience in transportation policy and funding, election campaigning, media outreach, and working with a large team of volunteers. The Campaign Fellow will report to the Program Director, and will work closely with the Executive Director.
Applicants should have election campaign experience, strong organizing skills and enjoy working in non-profit environment. Living and going to school or having worked in the East Bay are a real plus.

The East Bay Bicycle Coalition was founded in 1972 to safeguard the interests of bicyclists in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties, and now represents over 3,000 members. East Bay Bicycle Coalition works for safe, convenient and enjoyable bicycling for all people in the east bay. The past two years have marked huge growth and strategic change in the organization. The EBBC seeks to continue its impressive advocacy track record, while broadening its base of members to be ever more representative of the regions’ cyclists. EBBC works with 33 cities, both counties, Caltrans and other government agencies to improve conditions for cyclists.
