Oakland BikeTrippers Arrowhead Marsh Bike Tour
Bike Month recreational activity perfect for novices and families. Join a docent-led ride that meets at the Oakland Museum of CA, 10th and Oak Streets. Select from two tour options: Downtown Oakland History or Arrowhead Marsh. RSVP: 510.238.3514.
The Oakland Museum of California Biketrippers resume their free seasonal bike tours of Oakland on May 20, 2007. Meeting at the 10th Street entrance of the museum at 10am, the classical tour of historical Oakland will include the estuary, estuary park, Jack London Square, Old Oakland, the Pardee House, Aamlo Library, Preservation Park, Civic Center, Oakland Hotel, and the Cameron/Stanford House.
For those who have already done the classic tour, an alternative tour will be held simultaneously to Arrowhead Marsh. This tour will leave from the Fruitvale Bart Station, also at 10am. It is also over level terrain but is longer, 10-12 miles, and is a scenic tour, not a historical one, with emphasis on the bird refuge, the migratory birds, and the history of the origin of Arrowhead Marsh. The tour is free but advance registration is required by calling (510)238-3514.
